CarolinaMate is an online personal advertising site for residents of North and South Carolina.

What are the costs?

CarolinaMate is free for all registered adults to use.

What restrictions are there on using this site?

All users of this site must meet our standards, which may be found in our Terms and Conditions.

Must I register to browse CarolinaMate?

Yes. You need to be registered if you would like to post your profile, view other members profiles, use the chat area or communicate with one of our members.

If I register, does that allow complete access to the site?

Yes.

How is my e-mail address handled?

All e-mail addresses are confidential and not displayed to other members. When another member sends you a message, that message is in house and not through the e-mail system. In other words, all messages sent to you by other members remain on CarolinaMate until you delete them. Messages that you have sent are not saved by CarolinaMate. If you want to save an outgoing message you will have to cut and paste the text to your computer.

May I upload a picture of myself?

Yes. The upload feature of CarolinaMate is easy to use, as long as you follow the instructions. Pictures must be of the individual that has registered with CarolinaMate. Our photo guidelines are:

1. Nude, obscene, sexual or otherwise offensive photos will not be posted.
2. Cartoon characters and photos of celebrities are copyrighted and will not be posted.
3. You must be in the photo and clearly visible.

If you choose not to upload a picture, a graphic may be inserted in place of your picture. Pictures are not required to post your profile.

How many pictures may I upload?

Four, plus you may change any picture at anytime.

How do I enter the "Profile of the Week"?

First, you must have a picture of yourself in your profile. Second, click on the "Get Featured" link and request it. These are taken on a first come first serve basis. There is no guarantee that your profile will be featured.

If I cancel my profile does it cancel my membership?

No. You may be member without having a profile, but you must have registered.

What is the difference between a profile and an ad?

A profile is a series of questions about you. An ad is basically a text box where you may enter information about yourself. A profile is more indepth and cover more areas than an ad.

Can I block other members from seeing my profile?

Yes.

Can I block other members from sending me messages?

Yes. If you receive offense messages from another member, please contact us immediately.

What should I do if I run into a technical problem?

Contact us immediately and throughly explain the problem. Be sure and identify the page you experienced the problem on.
